hello swirl inventive sounds fill layered beat material that breaks from a professional, reminiscent of sounds out of Ninja Tunes, but Bergen's CtM rhythm delivers in solid strokes, easily competing with the best of NIN's gritty beats in "It Pays So Thin", slips into This Mortal Coil realm with "Days". Yet, unlike the latter bands, Bergen's sound is infectiously light and hoppy, even when CtM plays in melancholy or grime.

An expatriate Australian formerly from Melbourne, who currently resides in Tokyo, Japan, Bergen is an author and photographer, as well as a music, movie, and anime journalist for the Daily Yomiuri newspaper, and Tokyo Correspondent for Anime Insider, Geek Monthly, and Impact magazines.

Bergen is a co-founder and ongoing manager of Melbourne/Tokyo label IF? Records, which was launched in 1995.

'Convert to Mono' marks Andrez' 4th release on Auricular Records where he has found a home for his particularly unique more obscure and experimental mixes.
